About the Author

Laurelee has worked in the field of eating disorders and body image disturbances since 1985. Her ground breaking approach has been featured in national newspapers, magazines, TV and radio shows.

Laurelee keeps herself busy with a workload large enough for three people, as she multitasks conducting workshops, facilitating support groups and lecturing worldwide.

She is a licensed cosmetologist as well as a yoga teacher. She practices low level laser therapy and hypnotherapy. Laurelee Roark lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Laurelee is also an activist and an active member of Code Pink which is a women-initiated peace and social justive movement working to end the wars in Iraq and Afghnistan, stop new wars and redirect resources into healthcare, education, green jobs and other life-afferming actions. She joins other members of Code Pink the 2nd Sunday of every month to march accross the Golden Gate Bridge protesting war and violence initiated by fear (picture below).
